The Farm Store associate is responsible for performing all daily operations of the Farm Store. Additional responsibilities include promoting company and branch location employee cohesiveness through effective communication, teamwork, and shared services and by following safety policies and procedures.

Primary responsibilities include:

•    Answers the phone and greets customers

•    Assists customers with sales, checkout process, and promotes all products

•    Responsible for being knowledgeable of all products and services and exhibits ability to demonstrate to customers their uses

•    Assists with opening and closing the location and completing recordkeeping including processing sales documentation, daily deposits, and reconciling the cash drawer

•    Loads and unloads feed, fertilizer, and/or trucks

•    Adds new products to the system

•    Counts and maintains inventory including ordering, receiving, unloading and restocking

This position requires an individual to be at least 18 years of age, have a forklift certification or the ability to obtain and maintain, and enjoy serving people and building relationships within the Kanza team and our community of patrons.

PHYSICAL/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds. 
• May frequently need to climb ladders (may range from 20’ to 180’) and stairs. 
• Frequently exposed to grain dust, moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat; toxic or caustic chemicals; and vibration. 
• This position works Monday – Saturday.
